Message from the Principal
As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, we are proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of May River High School. Since opening our doors in August 2016, our school has grown in size, spirit, and success. Last year, we revised our mission and vision to reflect who we are today and where we aspire to go. Our renewed vision, that every student will maximize their potential while positively contributing to their community, guides our work and affirms our shared commitment to student growth and achievement.
This past year, our school made tremendous strides, from academic growth, to student engagement and strengthened community partnerships. Most notably, we are proud to celebrate earning an Excellent rating on our state report card for the first time since 2019. This is a true testament to the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families.
May River High School (MRHS) provides students with access to rigorous curricula through a wide selection of academic offerings. Through a supportive and engaging learning environment, students are encouraged to discover and develop their talents and interests. Students can earn the AP Capstone and Cambridge Academy diplomas or take courses in one of multiple Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways, including business, technology, PLTW engineering, welding, automotive services, and more. In the past two years, MRHS proudly added both the Air Force JROTC program and the Hospitality & Tourism program to its academic catalog.
Our athletic programs continue to build on a tradition of excellence. Last year, our Girls Golf and Boys Wrestling teams won state championships, while Boys Lacrosse and Girls Volleyball each finished as state runners-up. In recognition of our overall athletic success, May River placed third in the SCHSL Carlisle Cup standings, which honors the top athletic programs in South Carolina.
Whether you are a returning Shark or new to The Tank, we invite you to be an active part of our school community. Here's to a decade of excellence and the exciting future ahead! Go Sharks!!

Dr. KaRon L. Webb
