Virtual, Drop-In College & Scholarship Fair: October 24

On Saturday, October 24, TED Youth@Columbia will be hosting a three-hour Virtual, Drop-In College & Scholarship Fair. Over twenty colleges will be participating. This organization award over 100 million dollars annually. This a is a great opportunity for seniors and their parents/guardians to participate in this virtual college fair, a free opportunity to meet with college and scholarship representatives from all over the nation.
Hampton Wildlife Fund Scholarships

SC Teaching Fellows
The application for the 2021 SC Teaching Fellows cohorts went live on October 1st and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on December 1st. The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation believes that investing in students who are leaders, both academically and in service to others, will result in positive, lasting change and sustainable communities. Know a high school senior who fits the bill? Encourage them to apply to be a Coke Scholar by October 31, 2020, at 5 p.m. Eastern and receive one of 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 through the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation. Columbus Club of Beaufort Scholarship
The Columbus Club of Beaufort is offering four $1,000 scholarships to Beaufort County students for the 2021/22 school year. Eligibility: 1). Child, grandchild, family member or stepchild of a member of the Columbus Club of Beaufort in good standing. 2). Extended family member of a Columbus Club of Beaufort member in good standing. 3). Child or family member of the US Armed Forces who has lost his/her life in the line of duty. 4). Child or family member of active duty or retired member of the US Armed Forces. 5). Deserving Graduating Seniors of Beaufort County, SC. 6). Sponsorship available upon request

SC Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: January 7, 2021

Must have a competitive or recreational interest in golf.
Must attend an accredited public or private, four-year college or university located in SC in the fall of 2021.
Must be a SC resident.
Must be a senior in a SC high school.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale though the spring of 2020 semester.

Kitty M. Fairey educational fund scholarship

This scholarship is for one year only; however, current recipients may reapply and be considered for additional funding along with other new applicants.  Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time.

BUILDING A BETTER LOWCOUNTRY from the technical college of the lowcountry(formerly the B3 scholarship)

The Building a Better Lowcountry Scholarship ensures that any recent graduate from a qualifying school that meets the academic eligibility criteria will be guaranteed at least two free years of college tuition at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.  The BBL Scholarship encourages students to work harder in high school secure in the knowledge that a lack of family financial resources will not keep them from attending college.  From an economic development perspective, our 4-counties will be able to attract businesses by developing a better-educated workforce.

Lyceum Scholarship
The Lyceum Scholars Program at Clemson University offers $10,000 scholarships to study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. This program is an integrated eight-course sequence that Lyceum Scholars take together as an intellectual cohort. The Lyceum Scholars Program uses a great books approach to discuss timeless questions such as: • What makes a society free? • What is the relationship between moral character and a free society? • What are the principles of the American founding? Students interested in becoming Lyceum Scholars should apply in their senior year of high school to Clemson University and to the Lyceum Scholars Program. The Priority Deadline to apply to the Lyceum Scholars Program is December 11, 2020.

2021 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards:  Deadline: November 10, 2020

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service. 

Local Honorees receive a Certificate of Achievement from their schools or organization. Those Local Honorees who qualify (26 hours of service for ages 10 and younger, 50 hours for ages 11-15, and 100 hours for older students) also receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Distinguished Finalists receive an engraved bronze medallion, and other state-level runners-up receive Certificates of Excellence.

State Honorees receive a $1,000 scholarship, an engraved silver medallion, and an invitation to the program's national recognition events. In the event that circumstances surrounding COVID-19 necessitate canceling the in-person event, a virtual event will be held and no trip to Washington, D.C. would be awarded.

National Honorees receive an additional $5,000 scholarship, an engraved gold medallion, a trophy for their schools or nominating organizations, and a $5,000 grant from The Prudential Foundation for a nonprofit charitable organization of their choice.
