Katie Rossini, Assistant Principal

school logo I’m the new assistant principal for the 2020-2021 school year.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I worked as an English teacher for Durham Public Schools.  After teaching for four years, I earned a Master of Social Work from UNC before returning home to the DC area.
For seventeen years, I worked for Montgomery County Public Schools in various teacher leader and administrative capacities. In addition, I served as a middle school, high school, and special school assistant principal.
While working for MCPS, I earned my Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
In 2019-2020, I was the assistant principal of instruction at Wakefield High School in Wake County Public School System.
On a personal note, nothing is more important to me than family, the one you’re born into and the one you create for yourself. I’m one of seven children, six of whom work in education. In my free time I love to travel. I’ve visited twenty-five countries and thirty-five states. Finally, I’m a huge Washington and Tar Heel sports fan.
